About Project Caraga
Creating Opportunities for Sustainable Communities
Project Caraga is a Nature-based Solutions initiative of Caraga Carbon Development Inc. that helps mitigate the climate crisis through programs implemented in forestlands inside ancestral domains in the Caraga Region, Mindanao, together with indigenous peoples.
Our activities are focused on large-scale non-extractive interventions such as afforestation, reforestation, revegetation (ARR), biodiversity conservation, and sustainable agriculture. These programmatic activities will bring about socio-economic development opportunities for the indigenous communities.
We are headquartered in Butuan City, Philippines with a current workforce of 89 team members composed of experts and seasoned personnel in the fields of environmental science, forestry, biodiversity, agriculture, conservation, social science, community organizing, and development work.
ClearWind Pte. Ltd. is the development company behind Project Caraga, headquartered in Singapore. It is co-founded by two trailblazers in nature-based solutions projects in Southeast Asia, boasting a track record of nearly 20 years in the industry. The ClearWind team comprises international professionals with expertise in project management, product development, marketing, and finance.

ClearWind is led by the Co-Founder of Infinite Earth™ and the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Project, and the Co-Founder of Lestari Capital and PT Forest Carbon Indonesia.
The founders of ClearWind in their previous companies, produce the 1st and 3rd project in Southeast Asia to ever create forest carbon credits in a track record going back 18 years.

Indigenous Peoples of Caraga
The indigenous peoples of Caraga are the primary stakeholders of the Project. They will collaborate with the Project Caraga team to protect, conserve, and restore the forests within their ancestral domains, thereby earning benefits from these activities.
OUR COLLECTIVE PURPOSE
Our purpose is simple: Through conservation, there is empowerment.
This purpose guides the way we run our company, how we work with our partners, how we design our activities, and how we engage with indigenous people. We believe that forests are the natural heritage that has been passed down from generation to generation – they are a representation of the inherited cultural heritage uniting people in their shared history. To lose them is to lose everything. We look to the future together with our indigenous partners, in order to help preserve their ancestral past.

At Project Caraga, we recognize the difficult choices that indigenous peoples face between the conservation of their forests and economic development. That’s why, through an open and on-going dialogue, we create opportunities that address this challenge through collective economic benefits from climate finance which can be individually channelled to the most pressing socio-economic development needs of each community we work with. This includes bringing sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, clean water and health, improving access to education, and addressing other priority needs identified by our indigenous partners.
